A message from the captain - December 2015
Our Prize-Giving evening was held on Saturday, 28 November. The trophy presentation was followed by a light supper and music by 'Janey Kirk'. Although the numbers attending were disappointing, the evening was enjoyed by all.
Megan Robb (pictured) the ladies club champion for 2015, was in attendance to receive her trophy. Hopefully the numbers for next year will improve with more people attending to receive their trophies.
Regretfully, Dean our Pro/Gen Managers' last day at the club will be Thursday, 24 December 2015. We have arranged for a farewell get-together on Friday, 18 December mid-afternoon in the clubhouse. We hope as many people as possible will come along to the club to wish Dean all the very best in his new venture at Banchory Golf Club.
We have advertised for a 'Golf Professional' on the SGU and PGA websites. The closing date for applicants will be 11 December 2015. Interviews will commence early January 2016, after which we will publicise the successful applicant. We are hoping for a starting date in February/March 2016 but will inform members asap.
Having examined the position of the 'General Manager', the Management have decided to split the tasks amongst our existing staff. We have accordingly come up with a new Management Structure which will be published on our website. This new arrangement will be monitored during the next year.
The Winter programme is well under way with the 2nd Green on the Practise Area prepared for turfing along with the 1st, 18th and 6th Tees. Also, drainage work has been carried out on the 3rd and 5th Greens. Thanks to Paul and his staff for all their work.
The Shop will be closed from 24, December 2015 until further notice. All enquiries should be directed to the Club Office. All Score Cards will be available in the Gents/Ladies locker rooms.
Finally, our 'Hangover' golf will be held on Sat 2nd Jan 2016 followed by 'Karaoke' session from 2-6pm. Best Wishes for the Festive Season!
