So, Jason Day continued his blistering run of form with victory at The Barclays on Sunday. It was the Australian's third win in his last four starts and moved him in to first place in the lucrative FedExCup standings.
Although Day's most notable skill is his length and accuracy off the tee, it was his outstanding performance on the greens that really got our attention this week; he gained more strokes putting than any other player in the field; draining them from everywhere. One highlight came on the 15th, a putt of well over 30 feet that swung from left to right downhill and dropped in the bottom of the cup. It was a real beauty, one we'd all be telling our friends about in the clubhouse afterwards.
There's no better feeling for any golfer than making a putt you would happily have made in two. We all want to reward our solid approach play by making more than we miss, so try and take some inspiration from Day's performance this weekend next time you're standing over a tough one. If you'd like us to take a look at your putting stroke, get in touch here.
Have a good week and enjoy the rest of the articles below.
