Greetings from Dean Vannet
Peterculter Golf Club - PGA Golf Professional

Last Saturday saw our last tribute act of this winter with Michael Bublé – these videos show a few of his songs which were a hit to all who came along and enjoyed another great night at the Club.

The new season is just around the corner and as from Saturday 28th March we revert back onto the full summer course. Feedback from members indicate that the summer greens are shaping up nicely.

Below you can see the summer greens being worked on - looking good for the new season around the corner.

Pitchmarks

Now that we are back playing to the summer greens and have been for the last two weeks we have been inundated from members pointing out that despite the quality of the summer greens the old nemesis, pitchmarks, has returned. If we repair our own pitch mark and one other we can all benefit from smoother surfaces moving forwards.

The opening competition this year is on Saturday 28th March – Club Captains v Club Vice Captains and is a shotgun start at 9:30am. Entries are open now! Format is 2 players vs 2 players playing the 18 holes with holes up being recorded at the end of the round.

We still have our FREE gripping offer on so pop into the shop and have one of your irons gripped for FREE!! We have a large selection to choose from so don’t miss out – we can fit the grip in seconds and then take it out to play straight away

Ross and I got our season off to an early start last week in the PGA Winter Fourballs at Scotscraig. On a very windy day we managed to post a very respectable score of four under par and finish in fourth place.

Straight talking from Bubba...

With the G30 driver, Bubba Watson has consistently posted the best distance and accuracy numbers of his career. Speed humps, as he explains in this video, are a big reason he's finding more distance and more fairways.

Bubba Watson's ball speed of 183.79 mph with his pink G30 driver is #1 on the PGA Tour.

He is the first golfer ever in the history of the PGA Tour to average over 310 yards & over 60% fairways hit.

Job vacancy

We have an Assistant Greenkeeper position available at Peterculter Golf Club. You should be qualified to SVQ level 2 and keen to progress. Excellent package for the right candidate. Send CV and cover letter to coursemanager@petercultergolfclub.co.uk
