Catering takeaway service

With takeaway dining the new normal for lots of people Adam continues to offer a great value for money menu from the club kitchen. If you would like to support Adam and enjoy some great cooking please read his message for this week below.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for using the takeaway service last week i was bowled over by the response and the positive feedback received. There has been further government guidance on takeaways but with slight tweaks we can still offer this service in a safe environment.

I am keeping everything the same for the coming week, so 6pm-8pm 7 days with time slots given every 10 minutes on a first come first served basis.
Ordered by 6pm the day before. If you arrive early/late please give other customers plenty space while waiting. And please wear a mask.

Pro's practice tip

Because we are all in our second lockdown plus with the bad weather and ground conditions I’ve pulled from the archives this video from the clubs Facebook page (hopefully it opens for you) and a simple little drill using a plastic stick and a wedge.

Once we can get back to playing and practicing again with a purpose then a simple drill like this will help to avoid the “thin” “chilli dips” across the green and get those important chip shots landing softly and edging closer to the hole:

Golf on Tour

English top in Hawaii

Tour golf is very much a way of life and an unforgiving one at that. As recently as 2019, Harris English was struggling to return to the PGA Tour, having lost his card and been demoted to the Korn Ferry Tour (this is the feeder tour to the PGA, much like the Challenge Tour in Europe).

Now, English is a PGA Tour champion once again. The 31-year-old picked up his first victory since 2013 at the Sentry Tournament of Champions in Hawaii, having fought off Justin Thomas’ pursuit of a third title in five years at the event. What an achievement, and one for the sentimentalists.
