Hello golfers,
Don't you just love winter golf? No… why not?! Frosty mornings, a nice hot cuppa half way round and a wee drop of something afterwards… can't beat it. So, this is a warning to any of you hiding, make the most of your memberships this winter! We're not picking on fair weather golfers because let's face it, winter in the UK can be quite brutal. However, so long as your course is open we'd encourage you to get out there. And, if it's not, why not support your golf club over the winter by popping into the clubhouse, it beats an afternoon of DIY!
We'll leave you with a simple tip if you're coming up short at the moment; club up! The ball's not travelling as far in these temperatures. It's such a common fault we see and the answer's not to swing harder. It may work one on half a dozen times but for more positive and consistent outcomes, consider taking an extra club before thinking of taking the skin off the ball…

Congratulations to 15 year old Megan Robb, our youngest rising star in the ladies section! This year Megan has won several competitions. To cap it all she has picked up two trophies playing in the Aberdeen Ladies County Association, namely the 'Grant Cup' junior stableford comp. and the 'Fyfe Trophy' for 'Most Improved Young Golfer'. Well done Megan!
