Winter Golf is now underway at Peterculter. Our 16 hole course is set up and we are now using mats from fairways and the first cut of rough. However the weather has still been favourable and at present we remain on the summer greens until the frost hits.
At weekends there is the usual Gents and Ladies Winter League but also on a Saturday I will be running a shop sweep which is only £1 to play and it runs all day, just book a time and pay your entry in the shop.
Last weeks' winners were Roy Davidson and Mike Tweed, well done to you guys, a good start to your winter season.
Alliance:
Last week we hosted the North-East Alliance. With a strong field of 100 players there were some good scores. Former Open Champion Paul Lawrie can add Alliance Winner at Peterculter to his golfing achievements list as he won with a 4 under 67, one ahead of his son Craig who had 68. Peterculter member Tony Robertson was third with a score of 69 so well done to him.
Other Peterculter members in the prizes were Derek Craigie who won his handicap section with a nett 70 and Norman Foster who came in 4th in his handicap section with a nett 70.
Paul (amongst others) was very complimentary about the condition of the course and he took to twitter to say that they were "the best greens he has ever putted on in an Alliance”
