Welcome to another edition of our newsletter, in this week’s mail we recap on the Ladies Championship, our next Open takes place in just over a week with spaces available, we invite you to get involved in some local events, and our tee markers are back. Enjoy the read!

Carmen takes the title

Last week we hosted this year’s Aberdeenshire Ladies County Golf Championships with 18 holes strokeplay on the Friday followed by the top scratch and handicap qualifiers playing knock-out match-play over the weekend.

The handicap final was played Sunday morning with Michelle Finnie (Aberdeen Ladies) defeating Vicki Neish (Murcar Links) and the scratch final played in the afternoon. A large number of spectators turned out to watch both finalists – Sammy Leslie (Murcar Links) and Carmen Griffiths (Aboyne) on what was a beautiful afternoon out on the course.

In the end, Carmen, who at 14 years of age came out on top and became the youngest ever winner of this championship.

Gents 18 Hole Open

Our next Open event is taking place next Saturday 19th May – we have a few spaces left if you would like to enter – Simply click here and pick your tee time.

Gents Saturday Competitions

Please note that although the last bookable Gents Medal tee time is at 2pm on Saturday’s members can book their own tee times after 2pm and still enter into the competition. There are a few members who use this option as it suits their schedule and which you may also find useful. If you require further clarification please feel free to contact Andy or myself here in the Shop.

All four courses are shaping up nicely for the season ahead and with the Royal Deeside Classic not far off, what a great opportunity to play all four courses in July and all for £130. A Welcome Reception, four rounds of competition golf, quiz evening , optional practice day on the 1 rest day all on Royal Deeside, Aboyne Golf Club, Ballater Golf Club, Braemar Golf Course, Banchory Golf Club and Braemar Golf Club.

Anyone for snooker?

In case you didn’t know or have forgotten or if you are new to the Club, there is a full size snooker table which members can use as required. Located upstairs opposite the boardroom and with a view overlooking the 1st tee, our snooker room offers members an alternative indoor game. If you are interested in playing a frame or two simply touch base with the bar staff.

Trust = Power
