Ross continued his success on the course last week in the Scottish Young Professionals Championships at West Lothian Golf Club. With scores of 74 & 73 he made the halfway cut in 16th position. On the final day, rounds of 73 and 73 (AGAIN!) he moved up to eventually finish in 10th place.
Ross’ week was rounded off by further good news that he has passed all 9 of his exams and now only has one more practical exam to pass in August before he is a fully qualified PGA Professional. Well done to him on all his achievements.
Charity Cycle
In October, Ross and his girlfriend are taking part in a 50 mile Charity cycle to raise money and awareness for his friends charity, “Kayleigh’s Wee Stars”. They are a local charity who support families with terminally ill children. For more information please visit http://www.kayleighsweestars.co.uk/
There is a collection jar in the pro shop and any donations or small change is greatly appreciated.
Four of our juniors played in the 'Off the Tee' trophy (Deeside section) at Banchory on Sunday, in ideal conditions the boys adjusted quickly to the very quick greens. They have qualified for the semi finals/final day at Peterhead on Sunday 17 August following a 6 hole aggregate victory in the two foursomes pairings over a strong Stonehaven team. Congratulations to George Colleran, Connor Brown, Murray Spence & Greg Carrell.
Throughout the North East many Greenkeepers are given the opportunity this week to assist in preparing the course for the Scottish Open at Royal Aberdeen. Pictured here are our very own Paul Sharp (Course Manager) and Adam Lindsay (Greenkeeper) who are both assisting this week. The boys are responsible for cutting fairways and greens with other local club Greenkeepers who have the task of presenting the course to some of the best players in the game. The lads are based on site and start work at 4am each morning - good luck guys and remember to set your alarm!!!
