Open victories

Last Saturday Banchory Golf Club members Adam Lindsay & Jack Harling crossed the line in 1st position in their respective events. Adam played in the Gents 36 Hole Open here at Banchory which saw a full field of 91 players taking part and with rounds of 67 & 69 (-2, 136 total) picked up 1st place pipping Clark Brechin of Portlethen by just 1 stroke. While young Jack (21) who was playing in the Carnegie Shield at Royal Dornoch GC, one of the oldest open events in the North East, won the final by beating American Andrew Biggadike at the 19th hole in the final.

Fantastic achievement by both players indeed!

Course news

Broken tees

Despite the quality of the golf course, I have received comments from some members in respect to the volume of broken tees that appear to be left on a majority of tee boxes. In an effort to assist players in keeping our tees tidy, the Club has supplied a number of tee cups for the broken tees adjacent to the tee markers. If we could respectfully ask that rather than leave broken tees sticking in the ground or casting them aside, please just place them into the tee cups provided and let’s keep our course in the best presented condition we can.

Choose the right ball
