Texas Open Success

The first Open event of this year took place last Sunday with 48 teams of four players (any combination) from local clubs competing in the Open Texas Scramble. Despite a chilly breeze the players enjoyed both a well-presented course, lots of sunshine throughout the day and a selection of fine fare in the clubhouse from our resident Chef Ramsay. 

Some terrific scoring was returned with the following results being the winners:

1st: Danny Lonie, Christopher Lonie, Sam Barfoot, George Lawson 52.9 
2nd: Mark Smith, Fred Smith, Paul Urquhart, Chris Simpson 53.0 
3rd: Manjit Singh, Graeme Anthony, Malcolm Webster, Gordon Duncan 53.7 (BIH) 
4th: Jim Christie, Gail Christie, Brian Dawson, Carol Dawson 53.7 
5th: Russell Balsillae, Steven Balsillae, Phillip Gill, Bryan Alexander 54.1

Prize Vouchers will be sent out to the home clubs of each player.


 

Royal Deeside Golf Classic - 23th July to 28th July 2017

Picture a corner of Scotland with delightful warmth of welcome together with breathtaking scenery and four interesting, but challenging golf courses. You've discovered Royal Deeside. Playing golf amid such scenic splendor must be every golfers dream and here in Royal Deeside we have put together a package, which will allow just that. See the itinerary below:

Braemar Golf Club - Round 3 from 8.30am

Ballater Golf Club - Round 4 from 8.00am

This really is a tremendous event right on our doorstep and it is open to everyone. Entry Forms can be picked up from the pro shop or downloaded here from the Deeside Classic.


 

Junior Coaching Program

Our Junior 8 week coaching program is now into its third week with 19 junior members taking part in both on course and practice area sessions. This introduces juniors to golfing etiquette while improving on their technique at the same time. 
 
Senior Gents and Ladies Group Lessons

Senior Gents and Ladies Group Lessons Starting Monday 15th May there will be a selection of times and days available for group tuition for both Senior Gents and Ladies sections. Mondays and Thursdays seem best suited for the Ladies with Tuesdays and Fridays for Senior Gents. 

Ask in the pro shop for details if interested. Times are yet to be decided and are very flexible.
