Silent Auction for Storm Frank Flood Relief
We now have the Fund Raising Storm Frank silent auction open in the Clubhouse where you can fill in your bids and post them into the auction box in the main lounge area - I have attached the list so you can view what is on offer and available for bidding.
The Quiz and auction night will be held on March 25th in the clubhouse. All tables have been booked so if you are not going to be present please feel free to email back to me at the Pro Shop with your silent auction bid and item bidding for - I will collate all bids with the winners being announced on the night.
We can all get involved and help those golf facilities affected by the worst flooding ever in our own back yard.
Club Knock-Outs:
Please note that the signup sheets are now on the clubhouse notice boards - sign up and enjoy some knock-out golf this year at the Club.
Fergus Bisset scores first NE Alliance win over 16-hole Montrose Winter Course with a 58
Fergus scored his first win of the North-east Alliance season with a three-under-par 58 for the 16 holes. He made birdies at 4, 6, 12 and 13 (*usually 5, 7, 14 and 15). His only dropped shot came at the seventh (usually the eighth).
Well done Fergus! Keep up the great work!
From time to time we like to share some coaching tips through our newsletters in an effort to help you lower your scores. This week you'll see we're offering some advice on how to effectively escape wet sand - which is somewhat topical, unfortunately.
Being able to adjust to the wintry conditions is a real skill, whether that's playing the ball a little further back in your stance to keep the ball underneath the wind, or adjusting your technique to escape wet sand (below) - so we hope you find these articles useful.
Of course, some one-on-one coaching may be what you need, as we appreciate that putting these tips into practice isn't always that easy, even if they make perfect sense.
We hope you're enjoying your golf no matter what the weather is throwing at you, but do come and see us, or make an enquiry here, if you'd like some assistance. In the meantime, give the tip below a try and next time you end up bunkered in the wet sand, you might not get such a sinking feeling.
